No-Till Farmer editors Mike Lessiter and Kim Schmidt made an impromptu stop in Vincennes, Ind., today. Ray McCormick, a No-Till Farmer Living Legend, is lucky to be alive following an accident with his trackhoe doing tornado cleanup on his Illinois farm.

See photo of the tree that broke through his windshield and nearly killed him as it got trapped on the levers and pushed against his body in the cab before a friend working hundreds of yards away stopped the accelerating unit with his dozer blade and began the rescue. In the hospital for last 10 days with crushed left leg, Ray walked on crutches for the first time today.
