USDA's crop progress report for the week ended September 26 reported 97% of corn dented, below the 98% reported dented in the same week last year. The 5-year average for corn dented in this week was 94%.
Some 74% of corn crops were reported mature, above the 73% reported mature in the same week last year.
USDA reported 18% of corn crops harvested, above the 14% reported harvested by this time in 2020. The 5-year average for corn harvested in this week is 15%.
Around 45% of corn crops were reported in "good" condition, with another 14% in "excellent" condition and 26% in "fair condition."
Some 75% of soybean crops were reportedly dropping leaves, above the 72% reported dropping leaves in the same week last year. The 5-year average for soybeans dropping leaves in this week was 66%.
USDA reported 16% of soybeans harvested in the week, above the 18% reported in the same week last year. The 5-year average for soybeans harvested is 13%.
Some 47% of soybean crops were reported in "good" condition, with another 11% in "excellent" condition and 28% in "fair condition."
