While cover crop seeding has been growing by leaps and bounds in the no-till community in the last several years, getting them established can be a challenge, even for the most seasoned no-tillers.
In the first part of this two-part podcast series, cover crop educator and Pennsylvania no-tiller Steve Groff will talk about the mindset necessary to be successful in adopting cover crops in a no-till system and the types of questions no-tillers need to ask themselves about their operation before venturing forward with covers.
He’ll also discuss what cover crops are good options for no-tillers who desire species that winterkill and don’t require termination, and strategies for getting them seeded in colder northern climates with shorter planting windows.
