In the seventh annual Cover Crop Benchmark Study, we asked growers around the country to share how they’re using cover crops on their farms — from the species they’re choosing to their seeding methods and termination timings. Thanks to the 215 farmers who completed the 2025 survey, we learned that using drones to seed cover crops continues to grow, more acres were planted green, and emergence in dry weather was a top challenge last year.
