The Dual Placement Fertilizer Bracket was developed to place nutrients near the root zone, on both sides of the seed, at planting time. First developed in 1999, after several modifications, it first sold to farmers in 2004. The two 10-inch-diameter openers run slightly "toed in", thus creating two small V's in the soil, about 3 inches from the seed trench. The seed trench is not disturbed in any way. Liquid nitrogen, or any other liquid fertilizer is "streamed" into the fertilizer V's at very low pressure. The V press wheels then come along and move enough dirt to cover the fertilizer trench.
